Job summary

Gold's Gym of the Carolinas and Florida is seeking a Front Desk Associate to warmly greet members and guests, manage check-ins, and handle inquiries with professionalism. You will assist with retail and concessions, process sales, and support gym operations under the supervision of the Gym General Manager or Operations Supervisor.

The role requires strong customer service, effective communication, and basic accounting and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing is required.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles is required.
• Understanding of basic cash processing procedures is required.
• Functional computer skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Must be able to lift 25lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet members, guests and staff as they enter the gym and direct them appropriately.
• Provide security and control at the front door and retail area.
• Check members in using proper procedures and register guests.
• Direct guests and appointments to the appropriate fitness consultant.
• Answer phone with professional greeting and take messages as needed.
• Log inquiries and transfers to the correct fitness consultants.
• Follow up on telephone inquiries to ensure appointments are booked.
• Respond promptly to member requests, inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain neat appearance and wear uniform with nametag.
• Distribute keys, towels and materials as needed.
• Process retail and concession sales.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in other duties as directed.
