Job Description: Information Desk and School Office Manager

Start Date: July 1, 2025

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Brief Description: The Front Desk Receptionist reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing the school's front reception desk, answering multi-line phones, and greeting families and visitors with a positive attitude. This is a 12-month in-person position, working hours are 7:45 am - 4:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Greet students, families, and visitors warmly
  • Manage visitor check-in and badges
  • Ensure safety at the front entrance
  • Manage multi-line phone system and liaise with Technology Manager
  • Maintain attendance records in Veracross, communicate with families about absences
  • Oversee fire drill attendance logs
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and postage
  • Coordinate Metro-card distribution with the Department of Education
  • Order supplies, track deliveries, and maintain inventory
  • Provide clerical support to the Business Office and CFO
  • Support summer camp office operations
  • Attend staff meetings and school events, including evenings and weekends
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with school policies
Skills and Requirements:
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication with students of all ages
  • Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Research skills and internet proficiency
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and multi-task
  • Organizational skills and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods and lift boxes occasionally
  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
