Responsibilities

We are looking for a professional, bright, and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your role will be vital in ensuring the efficient operation of our practice and enhancing patient experience through friendly, professional, and attentive interactions. You will coordinate patient flow, assist with payments, billing, insurance, schedule appointments, maintain patient charts, and perform various administrative tasks.

The Front Desk Receptionist greets patients, manages check-in and check-out, enters new patient information, reviews charts for accuracy, ensures signatures are obtained, and collects payments as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients professionally and courteously.
  • Screen calls, schedule appointments and referrals.
  • Take accurate phone messages.
  • Enter patient demographics and appointment details.
  • Verify chart information and signatures.
  • Check-in and check-out patients efficiently.
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate as needed.
  • Collect payments proactively.
  • Update inventory weekly.
  • Treat patients with dignity and empathy.
  • Manage inventory orders.
  • Run end-of-day reports and reconcile payments.
  • Distribute reports and correspondence appropriately.
  • Address phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail promptly.
  • Assist other staff as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in Dermatology preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with multi-line phone systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (computer, fax, copier, scanner).
  • Intermediate computer skills and EMR experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to sort and file materials alphabetically or numerically.
  • Willingness to travel and provide coverage at other local offices as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, reaching.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard operation.
  • Correctable vision to 20/20 and hearing within normal range.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
