Skyline Gastroenterology in Jackson, TN is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to greet patients, verify demographics in the EMR, and coordinate front-desk activities.

You should have prior front office experience and knowledge of medical terminology; a High School Diploma is required, and BLS certification is required or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred (bonus).
• Prior experience in a front office capacity preferred.
• BLS certification required or eligible to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and direct them appropriately.
• Answer phone as needed and route inquiries.
• Verify and/or enter patient demographics in the EMR.
• Check for necessary referrals and update patient charts.
• Ensure forms are completed, signed, and filed.
• Schedule office visits, procedures, and tests as requested.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and balances at visit.
• Confirm all upcoming visits and procedures for the next day.
• Maintain and update patient records; keep front desk organized.
