VARIETY CARE INC in Oklahoma City, OK seeks a Patient Service Representative I to join the Administration team. You will answer phones, schedule appointments, collect patient information, and prepare charts for examination.

Responsibilities include updating electronic medical records, posting charges and payments at checkout, obtaining and verifying insurance details, and ensuring HIPAA compliance in a busy clinic. This non-exempt role reports to the Practice Administrator.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Legible handwriting and basic math skills.
• Ability to work with the public.
• Ability to enter simple data entry and basic keyboarding knowledge.
• Able to communicate with patients and staff.
• Trustworthy handling confidential information.
• Able to work in an active and stressful environment.
• Able to work with difficult patients from time to time.

Responsabilités

• Receives patients at the reception window.
• Obtains required information/documentation from patient at check in.
• Obtains financial and family information and updates it for each patient on each visit including address, phone, insurance coverage, and DOB.
• Updates information in the electronic medical records.
• Schedules appointments in electronic medical records.
• Posts charges and payments at the time of check-out for patient.
• Verifies any late or open balances and reminds patient of the outstanding balance.
• Calls billing assistance to help patient with balance owed questions.
• Accepts payments and ensures daily collections are secured.
• Balances daily transactions.
• Assures waiting area is in good order throughout the day.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines and Variety Care Privacy policy and procedure.
• Assures that office equipment is in good working order.
• Accepts direction from the Practice Administrator or the Physician on staff.
• Supports Variety Care’s accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home and our commitment to provide care to all Variety patients that is Safe, Effective, Patient Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable.
• Embodies the strength of personal character, leadership, and accountability.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
