Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a Membership Service Representative to provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, assist with tours, new member sales, renewals, and program registrations. You will serve as a key information resource on branch programs and merchandise, delivering a welcoming experience.

Under the Membership Director, this role helps maintain accurate records, processes payments, enforces policies, and supports branch events and campaigns to improve

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must possess initiative, enthusiasm, good judgment and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and multi-task effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests at the front desk with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Handle membership sales, renewals, cancellations, and program registrations.
• Provide information in person and by phone; assist with tours and visitor access.
• Ensure facility access control and enforce guest pass policies.
• Enter data accurately and process financial transactions at the front desk.
• Maintain up-to-date membership records and reports; support branch events.
• Assist with prospect handling and contribute to membership acquisition and retention goals.
• Support the Membership Director and branch staff to uphold YMCA standards.
