Virginia Heart in Stone Springs, VA is seeking a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to support daily administrative tasks in our outpatient cardiology office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of receptionist experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Medical office experience in a multi-provider office preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Computer proficient with good typing skills.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the office manager, physicians, billing, clinical staff and, most importantly, the patient.
• Provides exceptional customer service.
• Greet all patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Provide friendly and efficient telephone services.
• Registers patients in EMR system and verifies demographics.
• Collects co-payments and posts payments via EMR.
• Sorts mail daily and distributes accordingly.
• Keep reception area and waiting rooms clean and presentable.
• Identify all accepted insurance plans and cards.
• Check insurance eligibility and obtain referrals as needed.
• Prepare daily charts to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Schedule appointments via phone or in person.
• Respect and maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
