Virginia Heart, a busy outpatient cardiology practice in Northern Virginia, seeks a friendly Front Desk Medical Receptionist to support administrative and customer service duties. The role requires greeting patients, handling calls, EMR registration, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant privacy in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of receptionist experience, bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and strong computer/typing skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of receptionist experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Medical office experience in a multi-provider office preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Computer proficiency with good typing skills.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle phone calls.
• Register patients in the EMR system and verify demographics.
• Collect co-payments, issue receipts, and post payments.
• Manage daily mail and maintain reception area cleanliness.
• Identify accepted insurance plans and verify eligibility as needed.
• Prepare daily chart/documentation to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Schedule appointments by phone or in person and protect patient privacy.
