The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Welcome Desk Attendant for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago. This role greets guests, handles registrations, and supports member services with data entry and POS tasks.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of customer service experience, and familiarity with web-based and smartphone apps. The position is non-exempt and weekend-focused.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience with data entry.
• Experience with computer-based work environments.
• Familiarity with web-based and smartphone apps preferred.
• Complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days.
• Annual Harassment Prevention and Bystander Training.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, members and guests at the Welcome Desk.
• Answer calls and provide information on programs and events.
• Record sales and data into the Club Automation POS system.
• Secure the POS area and handle cash according to policies.
• Ensure safety and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Assist guests in navigating the facility and programs.
• Check in members and guests for services and events.
• Notify supervisor of suspected child abuse; follow reporting protocols.
• Prepare accurate accident and incident reports for supervisor review.
