Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation in Emeryville is seeking a Guest Service Agent to support front desk operations and assist the Operations Manager. You will be the first point of contact for guests, handling reservations, check-ins, and guest services with a focus on Sonesta Service standards.

The role requires professional communication, cash handling, and the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training provided; ServSafe and TIPS may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous hotel experience, or retail customer service preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• ServSafe certification may be required.
• TIPS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Register guests and issue room keys, provide information on hotel services and room locations.
• Answer phones promptly and courteously.
• Process cash and credit transactions per procedures, including deposits and reports.
• Maintain security of cash and guest information.
• May book reservations and up-sell rooms to maximize revenue.
• Coordinate with shifts and management to ensure guest service quality.
• Follow alcohol service laws and deliver guest services as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
