Front Desk Assistant – Center for Academic Support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a positive and professional attitude.
- Answer phones, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding tutoring and other CAS programs.
- Schedule, modify, and cancel appointments using designated scheduling software.
- Check students in for tutoring and academic support appointments.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with data entry and attendance tracking.
- Monitor the front desk and waiting area to ensure a welcoming, organized, and professional environment.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the Center.
- Provide general administrative support, including filing, copying, scanning, preparing materials, and organizing resources.
- Support tutors, academic coaches, and professional staff with daily operational needs.
- Assist with outreach events, promotional activities, and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with university policies.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Current Colorado Mesa University student in good academic standing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and organized.
- Comfortable using computers and learning scheduling or office management software.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service, receptionist, office assistant, or administrative experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Familiarity with Colorado Mesa University resources and services.
