Job Description
The Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis University Area Hotel is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Agent. The role involves providing a positive guest experience and managing customer-facing administrative tasks of the hotel.
Essential Functions
- Offer attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests before arrival and during their stay, optimizing room revenue and occupancy.
- Operate the telephone switchboard properly.
- Respond to guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours.
- Maintain good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other hotel departments.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information.
- Document guest requests, complaints, or issues immediately and notify relevant departments for resolution, following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions.
- Know all in-house groups and high-demand/restricted dates.
- Gather necessary information for room reservations and follow rate quoting procedures.
- Be familiar with the front desk computer system.
- Log and deliver packages, mail, and messages.
- Share knowledge about the property, amenities, events, local attractions, and activities around the hotel.
- Accurately complete check-in and check-out procedures.
- Use creative reasoning and brand service tools to address guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
- Restock front desk supplies as needed or directed.
- Follow checklists and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented.
- Problem-solving skills to handle internal and external customer issues.
- Basic English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work under stress and high-pressure situations.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to obtain alcohol awareness certification as required.
- Willingness to work varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Clear communication of information and ideas.
- Desire to serve guests.
- Legal age to serve alcohol (at specific properties).
