Job Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing a variety of services to guests and plays a key role in generating revenue through room sales.

Responsibilities
  1. Acknowledge and respond appropriately to guest needs and requests.
  2. Report as scheduled, maintaining compliance with uniform standards and appearance.
  3. Follow safety and security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  4. Create an atmosphere of goodwill and service during guest interactions.
  5. Answer inquiries about hotel services, directions, and local attractions.
  6. Promote hotel bookings through prescribed reservation standards.
  7. Stay updated on hotel promotions, discounts, and marketing strategies.
  8. Pre-assign rooms considering special requests or needs.
  9. Register guests, collect payment methods, and maintain accurate registration information.
  10. Explain charges at checkout and finalize guest bills.
  11. Transmit and receive messages for guests and colleagues.
  12. Maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  13. Post charges to guest folios, such as room, food, and other services.
  14. Deposit guest valuables in the safe or safety deposit box.
  15. Communicate guest room and facility status changes to relevant colleagues.
  16. Assist with valet, guest shuttling, and baggage handling as needed.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rooms and Front Desk Manager.
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

6-12 months of related experience or training preferred; hotel experience is a plus. Weekend availability is required.

Skills
  • Fluent in English, with excellent listening, comprehension, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints positively and proactively.
