Essential Functions
Petit Ermitage seeks an individual with knowledge of Opera Cloud, able to work immediately with flexible hours, possessing a distinct and pleasant personality, excellent work ethic, a positive attitude, an eye for detail, and a natural aptitude for absorbing new information quickly. The candidate should be suitable for the Guest Service Agent position.
Job Duties
- Greet guests, answer questions, and respond promptly to requests in a friendly, thoughtful, and helpful manner; thank guests for staying with us at every opportunity.
- Provide a positive first impression for each guest or visitor.
- Verify room requirements, pre-registration, assign rooms, obtain signatures, issue keys, and enter guest data.
- Process cash and credit transactions accurately, including posting charges, completing reports, and securing bank deposits.
- Upsell rooms when possible to maximize revenue.
- Show room locations, highlight hotel amenities, and answer inquiries about services like Internet, fitness, entertainment, shopping, and transportation.
- Stay updated on hotel promotions, menus, and events.
- Engage with guests through small talk, inquire about their stay, and check satisfaction.
- Enter reservations, check availability, and confirm requirements following hotel yield management practices.
- Follow safety, security, loss prevention, and emergency procedures.
- Participate in safety drills, promote safety programs, and explain safety practices to guests.
- Respond to guest requests with effective service recovery, provide personal attention, and perform all duties diligently.
- Communicate guest requests or issues to supervisors or other departments; maintain a clean and organized work area.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred. At least two years of front desk/guest service experience in a hotel or airline preferred.
Language Skills
- Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
Physical Ability
- Regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, and communicate.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Stand or walk during long shifts.
Other
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Effective communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with guests and staff.
- Comfortable with computers, organized, and detail-oriented.
