The Hyatt House Virginia Beach Oceanfront is seeking an enthusiastic Front Desk Agent to join our team! This position offers flexible scheduling to support work-life balance.

Overview:

The Front Desk Agent assists guests with check-in and check-out, handles all phone calls, and manages special requests for services or information, following standard policies and procedures.

Potential Career Paths:

Front Desk Supervisor, Front Desk Manager, Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, Area Vice President of Operations

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests at all times.
  • Maintain positive guest relations.
  • Know hotel features, services, hours, room rates, packages, and promotions.
  • Manage daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
  • Handle assigned bank and ensure accuracy of monies.
  • Keep bank secure.
  • Answer phones within 3 rings with proper etiquette.
  • Process guest check-ins and verify registration details.
  • Collect and input payment information, including cash handling.
  • Coordinate with Bell Persons for guest luggage transport.
  • Manage overbooked or walk-in guests.
  • Record wake-up calls and handle guest faxes.
  • Communicate guest requests and information to relevant departments.
  • Resolve discrepancies with Housekeeping and in-house reports.
  • Process check-outs, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant hotel experience.
  • Basic computer skills required.
