FRONT DESK CLERK

Front Desk Clerks serve as the primary liaison to guests and are responsible for welcoming and registering hotel guests, explaining accommodations, and taking payments. They check guests out, explain billing, and respond to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing needs and adding personal touches to maximize customer satisfaction, while complying with brand standards and company policies. Duties may be updated at management’s discretion.

Duties Include
  1. Check in guests efficiently and courteously, ensuring correct room types and rates, and issuing keys.
  2. Follow brand standards for checking in elite members.
  3. Check out guests, ascertain satisfaction, settle bills, and handle late charges.
  4. Manage incoming reservations via phone and online platforms.
  5. Provide information about hotel services, entertainment, and directions.
  6. Address guest complaints and requests to enhance their experience.
  7. Serve as hotel phone operator, directing calls and taking messages.
  8. Keep records of room availability and guest accounts, and operate front desk software.
  9. Maintain cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  10. Complete accounts receivable and billing tasks as needed.
  11. Follow brand standards for guest stays based on the brand point system.
  12. Welcome guests and respond promptly and professionally to their requests.
  13. Check equipment for safety and report malfunctions.
  14. Use suggested selling techniques to promote rooms and hotel services.
  15. Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping.
  16. Operate office equipment and follow safety procedures.
  17. Maintain awareness of rates and energy conservation policies.
  18. Communicate effectively across shifts and ensure reservation accuracy from third-party sites.
  19. Participate in trainings and meetings, be flexible with schedules, and perform duties under pressure.
