Front Desk Host is a unique position responsible for Front Desk, Bell Services, and Concierge Services. The Host will serve as the first physical impression of the property, providing a professional and hospitable welcome and departure experience.
Essential Functions
- Interact with guests to provide exceptional customer service, sharing hotel knowledge and personalizing interactions using guest names.
- Know all hotel functions to showcase the hotel’s story to guests.
- Process mobile arrivals and execute remote check-in according to guidelines.
- Engage guests in and promote the hotel loyalty program, including new guest enrollments.
- Collect and verify payment methods, produce room keys, and maintain guest confidentiality.
- Assign and escort guests to rooms, paying attention to nonverbal cues to create memorable experiences.
- Assist with billing inquiries and resolve guest concerns.
- Utilize guest experience tools to maintain and update guest requests and preferences.
- Complete all required front office reports and checklists.
- Provide local information and assist with reservations or tours as a concierge.
- Assist with luggage, mail, and other guest needs.
- Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues using empowerment guidelines.
- Follow scheduled shifts, breaks, and lunch requirements.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
- Communicate clearly and professionally; answer phones courteously.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
- Report suspicious activity and irregular guest behavior.
- Handle assignments with limited supervision and follow hotel policies.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications Standards
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or higher
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Opera PMS experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend and lift up to 40 lbs
- Clear communication and normal vision
- Willingness to work long hours as needed
Mental Demands
- Make quick, sound judgments
- Manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations effectively
