Job summary

Physical Therapy Central is seeking a Full Time Front Desk Medical Receptionist for our Midtown OKC team. Compensation is $18 per hour. The role involves creating a welcoming patient experience, managing front desk duties, and supporting clinic operations in Oklahoma City, OK 73106.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing or patient-facing role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable and confident communicating on the phone, including handling upset or frustrated callers with patience and professionalism.
• Basic computer proficiency: comfortable learning new systems, navigating scheduling software, sending emails, and working in spreadsheets.
• No prior medical experience required — comprehensive training including EMR navigation, insurance fundamentals, scheduling workflows, and phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, professional first impression for patients, visitors, and referral sources.
• Manage front desk operations including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification/authorization, and phone calls.
• Review, schedule, and follow up on incoming referrals by gathering information, creating or updating patient records, and helping patients understand next steps.
• Keep patient flow and schedules moving by confirming appointments, working waitlists, filling cancellations, and following up with patients who need future visits.
• Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments accurately and professionally, including basic payment tracking or reconciliation when needed.
• Protect patient privacy and uphold HIPAA standards in all front desk interactions and documentation.
