Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Seafood Service/Meat Manager to lead the Meat department in a fast-paced retail environment. The role focuses on selecting fresh products, ensuring quality, and providing outstanding customer service.

You will train staff, set schedules, supervise daily operations, manage displays, and coordinate with store leadership to meet company guidelines and profitability goals. This position requires strong leadership and food-safety knowledge in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Possess the ability to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals and have increased contact with people.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive attitude; creates an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through teamwork.
• Trains, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates all department employees.
• Determines weekly work schedule and establishes a daily work plan for the department.
• Inspects signage and displays for quality and quantity of merchandise and orders product for replenishment.
• Communicates with employees regarding sales and ideas.
• Handles and satisfies customer issues.
• Maintains proper temperatures and storage procedures to guarantee freshness and control shrink.
