Job summary

99 Ranch Market in Jersey City area is seeking a Part-Time Seafood Department associate to help with display, receiving, prep, and customer service. You will maintain freshness, ensure proper signage, and support daily department operations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to food safety standards, temperature monitoring, and inventory control. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred to cover peak times and maintain excellent service in our perishable department.

Qualifications

• Previous seafood department experience preferred.
• Knowledge of seafood product lines or related experience.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays or rotating schedules.

Responsibilities

• Product Display & Merchandising: Set up and maintain attractive, well-organized displays with accurate signage and pricing.
• Receiving & Replenishment: Unload, inspect, and break down deliveries; replenish shelves and refrigerated cases.
• Product Preparation & Processing: Cut, trim, clean, weigh, wrap, package, and label seafood, meat, and produce.
• Inventory Management & Stock Rotation: Organize storage areas and rotate stock using FIFO methods.
• Food Safety & Quality Control: Inspect freshness and quality; remove unmarketable items and document disposal.
• Temperature Monitoring & Equipment Operation: Monitor temperatures; operate scales, fryers, steamers, and equipment.
• Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of workstations and displays according to schedules.
• Sales Floor Maintenance: Keep aisles and counters clean and safe.
• Customer Service: Assist customers and fulfill special preparation or packaging requests.
• Inventory Counts: Participate in monthly counts and report discrepancies.
• Teamwork & Operational Support: Collaborate to support daily operations and availability.
