Job summary

Whole Foods Market in New Jersey seeks a dedicated Seafood Team Member to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation in the seafood department. You will help create fresh displays, maintain signage and pricing, and ensure a safe, clean store environment while delivering courteous customer service.

Role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays, and comply with health and safety regulations. No prior retail experience required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and willingness to help customers and Team Members.
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in department.
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
• Proactively reads labels and familiarizes oneself on various products.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by checking quality and stocking cases and shelves.
• Maintains department signage and pricing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Provides a clean, safe, and organized working and shopping environment.
• Assists with sampling program and keeps sample areas full and clean.
• Cleans cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, and drains as required.
• Skins, bones, and cooks or smokes fish; labels and dates cooked fish.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
