Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Meat Department Associate to receive, rotate, wrap and merchandise fresh and processed meats while assisting Members and answering questions.

You will weigh, package, label cuts, inspect deliveries, stock cases, and maintain safety and cleanliness; prior experience in meat/deli preferred; must be 18+ with reliable attendance. Eligible for weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about meats, poultry, and seafood and make product recommendations.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood including grounds.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery and ensure meets quality standards.
• Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses by expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged or expired products per guidelines.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in meat cooler/freezer.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.
