Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is seeking a Meat Wrapper to learn and perform the safe handling, packaging and display of fresh meat in the store's meat department.

You will wrap, weigh, label and price carcasses and cuts, ensure cold chain integrity, rotate stock, and assist with ordering and merchandising.

This role requires basic math, English literacy, teamwork and strong customer service; flexibility to work in other areas and some travel may be required.

Competenze

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.

Mansioni

• Learns to package authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Ensures displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and that meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
• May assist with product ordering.
• Maintains proper date rotation for dated and undated products per company policy, both in the display case and in the storage cooler.
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in display counter according to company policy & procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain cold chain and ensure meat quality.
• Completes cleaning and sanitation of meat cases and meat rooms, ensuring excellent sanitation and quality standards are achieved and maintained.
• Responsible to follow and execute all company policies and procedures including COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, Meat/Produce Scale operation, Mark Downs, Inventory Processes, Meat POG’s, Meat Cutter Resource Manual, Daily Manager Signoff and Meat Cutting List.
• Protects company property, funds, and merchandise.
• Responsibilities may include other perishable and non-perishable related duties necessary to maintain optimal store performance.
