Job summary

Save A Lot is hiring a Meat Wrapper to learn and perform handling, packaging, labeling, and merchandising of fresh meat products. You will maintain cold chain, sanitation, and display quality while supporting ordering and inventory tasks.

The role requires 18+ age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic math. English reading/writing and strong teamwork are essential; Spanish is a plus in some locations. Full-time with potential travel and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment (knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, power saw where certified).
• Company work history considered (attendance, performance, safety, policy compliance).
• Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Spanish or other languages are a plus in some locations.
• Dependable and flexible; willing to work in other areas with short notice.
• Some travel may be required.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Adherence to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Lears to package beef, pork and poultry items per policies.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Displays and case signs updated; meat merchandised to maximize sales.
• May assist with product ordering.
• Maintains date rotation for dated/undated products per policy.
• Prepares meat cuts for display to look attractive to customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain and quality.
• Performs cleaning and sanitation of meat cases and rooms to meet standards.
• Follows all company policies including COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation and more.
• Protects company property, funds, and merchandise.
• Performs other duties to maintain store performance.
