Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is looking for a Meat Wrapper to support our Tampa meat department. You will learn packaging, weighing, labeling and merchandising of fresh beef, pork and poultry to maximize sales while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and strong communication to follow company policies and inventory procedures. Prior experience in grocery perishables is a plus, and some travel within the store may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment including knives, wrappers, scales, slicers and cubing machine (where certified) preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math.
• Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Learns to package authorized beef, pork and poultry items per policy.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Maintains displays and case signs to maximize sales.
• Assists with product ordering as needed.
• Rotates dated products and maintains proper storage quality.
