Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is hiring a Meat Wrapper for the St. Petersburg, FL store. The role focuses on handling fresh meat, ensuring quality, and merchandising to maximize sales. Training covers packaging, weighing, labeling, and maintaining proper display and cold chain.

The position requires basic math, English literacy, and a willingness to work in a grocery perishables environment with strong customer service and teamwork. 18+ and HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous grocery perishables or meat wrapping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Learn to package authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Ensures displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and that meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
• May assist with product ordering.
• Maintains proper date rotation for products per company policy.
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in display counter to appear attractive.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain.
• Completes cleaning and sanitation of meat cases and rooms.
• Follow company policies including COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, Meat/Produce Scale operations, and more.
