Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is seeking a Meat Wrapper for our Clearwater, FL location. The role involves packaging beef, pork and poultry per company policies, weighing, labeling, and displaying products to maximize sales while maintaining cold chain and sanitation standards.

The position requires 18+ age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic math and communication skills. Experience in grocery perishable or meat wrapping is preferred; some travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in grocery perishable department or meat wrapping preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math skills required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication.
• Language proficiency in Spanish or other languages are a plus in certain locations.
• Must be dependable and flexible, including willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed.
• Some travel may be required.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Learns to package authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Ensures displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and that meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
• May assist with product ordering.
• Maintains proper date rotation for dated and undated products per company policy, both in the display case and in the storage cooler.
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in display counter according to company policy & procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain cold chain and ensure meat quality.
• Completes cleaning and sanitation of meat cases and meat rooms, ensuring excellent sanitation and quality standards are achieved and maintained.
• Responsible to follow and execute all company policies and procedures which includes but is not limited to: COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, Meat/Produce Scale operation, Mark Downs, Inventory Processes, Meat POG's, Meat Cutter Resource Manual, Daily Manager Signoff and Meat Cutting List.
• Protects company property, funds, and merchandise.
• Responsibilities may include other perishable and non-perishable related duties necessary to maintain optimal store performance.
