Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Meat Department team member in New Jersey. You will receive, rotate, wrap, and merchandize meats, assist members, and support meat and seafood sections to maintain quality and safety standards.

Rectifying stock, labeling, and assisting the meat cutter are key parts of the role. This position requires at least 18 years old and previous meat/deli experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds.
• Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
