Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is hiring a Deli Clerk in a fast-paced grocery setting. The role involves helping customers select healthy foods, preparing fresh deli items, and maintaining clean displays.

You will operate deli equipment, assist with special orders, and ensure safety and sanitation across the department. Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma or equivalent, and able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 20 feet.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously per shift.
• Perform housekeeping and sanitize work areas.
• Operate deli equipment safely and maintain equipment.
• Follow safety/health regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler/freezer environments.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy options and prepare fresh, easy meals.
• Provide high level customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and displayed cleanly.
• Fill, rotate, and maintain product displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and other deli equipment per standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe deli area and equipment; clean shelves and floors.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
