Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Deli Clerk to join our fast-paced deli team. You will assist customers, prepare fresh meals, and ensure items are neatly displayed and properly packaged. Responsibilities include rotating stock, preparing special orders, and maintaining a clean deli area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent, with grocery/restaurant experience preferred.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the deli area.
• Operate deli equipment following safety standards.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Able to work in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals”
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, always ensuring cleanliness of the deli department area
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
