Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist customers with healthy food choices and to prepare, package, and present deli items with high standards of cleanliness.

You will rotate stock, handle special orders, and operate deli equipment while maintaining a safe, sanitary workspace. The role emphasizes friendly customer service, teamwork, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work area and equipment.
• Operate slicer and other deli equipment safely.
• Follow safety, health, and regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Work in coolers and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in choosing healthy foods and prepare fresh meals.
• Ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; maintain cleanliness of the deli area.
• Fill, rotate, and display products.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate slicers, ovens, microwaves, and other deli equipment per company procedures.
• Keep deli area clean, safe, and sanitary; sweep and tidy shelves.
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy and quality.
