Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, the fast-growing natural foods retailer, is hiring a Deli Clerk to support a busy Deli department. You will assist customers with healthy meal options, slice meats and cheeses, and prepare and present deli items with care.

A strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and accurate order handling is required. The role offers a dynamic, customer-focused environment with opportunities for growth and benefits.

Qualifications

• Be friendly and able to help customers in a fast-paced deli setting.
• Demonstrate teamwork and positive attitude.
• Maintain flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must have strong communication and listening skills.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations; obtain a Food Handlers permit if required.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting healthy foods and prepare fresh meals.
• Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are prepared, packaged, and presented cleanly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Deli department area and rotate products
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Operate deli equipment safely and keep equipment in good condition
• Ensure proper receiving, inspection, and logging of shipments for quality and temperature.
