Job summary

Sun Country Airlines seeks a Manager, Cargo Loading & Hazmat to drive safe, compliant freighter operations. You’ll coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and Amazon stakeholders to boost performance and station readiness.

The role requires travel to multiple stations and a focus on continuous improvement. Ideal candidates have a strong hazmat background, cross-functional leadership, data analysis skills, and the ability to provide concise executive updates while guiding frontline teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, operations, logistics, safety, business, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years airline, cargo, or ground operations experience with hazmat compliance.
• Knowledge of ground operations, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and corrective-action processes.
• Experience working cross-functionally to resolve issues and drive performance improvements.
• Experience analyzing operational data, identifying trends, and communicating risk.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel and participate in an on-call rotation for a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Hazardous Materials Program to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Monitor operational performance for freighter stations including ground handling and safety.
• Analyze delays and provide factual reporting and adjudication.
• Oversee vendor relationships and travel to stations for oversight.
• Coordinate safety events and corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Coordinate station startup and manage ancillary vendors.
• Improve ground handling processes with stakeholders and partners.
• Oversee load planning for freighter operations.
• Ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.
• Develop manuals, policies, and procedures in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Escalation management for operational issues.
• Serve as liaison between Training, Safety, QA, Security, and OCC.
• Review station audit findings and corrective actions.
