Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a detail-oriented Freight Data Clerk to check freight descriptions and weights during peak periods. You will verify NMFC classifications, document corrections, and work with sales staff to educate shippers on packaging rules.

This role requires accuracy, teamwork and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include AS400 data entry for weight changes, conducting ad hoc pricing studies, and complying with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four years trucking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of National Motor Freight Classifications, Rating and/or OS&D preferred.
• Strong math and ability.
• Minimum of 40 wpm keystroke speed.
• AS400 experience preferred.
• Able to lift approximately 20 lbs.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Check accuracy of freight description during peak movements.
• Determine proper weight classes per NMFC guidelines.
• Encourage reweighs and document corrections.
• Enter data into AS400 using Weights/Measurements menus.
• Educate shippers on proper description and packaging per NMFC rules.
• Conduct special research to support pricing and costing decisions.
• Attendance is required.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
