Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) is hiring a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. The role includes classroom and hands-on training and working outdoors in varied weather, with opportunities for long-term career growth within our rail network.

You will comply with safety regulations, coordinate with teams, operate switches, and document train activities. Pre-employment tests and background checks apply; relocation is not offered. Eligible candidates should be 18+ with a valid license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pre-employment physical, hearing and vision tests may be required.
• Background and motor vehicle checks required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal, state, and railroad safety and operating regulations.
• Work with a trainer or supervisor and follow instructions.
• Coordinate train or railcar movement using clear communications.
• Operate track switches to determine train routes and movements.
• Safely plan and complete assigned work; ensure efficient operations.
• Assist with daily tasks like inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
