Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Manager, Logistics Freight Payment to lead financial operations for our nationwide logistics network. You’ll oversee $200M+ in transport spend and revenue reconciliation, ensure accuracy and compliance, and manage vendor relationships while guiding a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of business experience with a strong focus on financial operations.
• 1+ year of project management experience, demonstrating organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong communication and results focus skills, with a proven track record of leading teams, influencing stakeholders, driving accountability, and delivering continuous process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions that drive operational, service and financial results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee freight payment and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution across all logistics operations.
• Supports Logistics processes and initiatives for CarMax’s Fleet toll and fuel programs, driving efficiency, compliance, and cost control.
• Manage third‑party freight payment vendor relationships, including strategic projects, and payment programming.
• Collaborate with internal Accounting and Strategic Sourcing teams to maintain accrual accuracy and influence carrier sourcing decisions.
• Develop and implement performance reporting tools to monitor freight payment KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead initiatives to optimize payment processes, including AutoPay enrollment and reducing manual invoice handling.
• Resolve escalations promptly while enforcing practices that limit financial exposure and maintain operational continuity.
• Coach and develop team members, creating a culture of accountability, efficiency, and professional growth.
