Job summary

XPO is seeking a Freight Operations Supervisor in the United States to lead and optimize freight processing on the shift. You will supervise hourly staff, implement procedures, and ensure on-time, damage-free delivery while controlling costs.

You'll enforce all applicable safety and regulatory policies (FMCSR, OSHA, DOT) and mentor your team. The role offers full benefits, PTO, holidays, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, or transportation.
• Knowledge of LTL industry, hazmat regulations, and DOT rules.
• Willing to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads.
• Supervise hourly staff and act as the primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and other admin tasks.
• Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals and lower costs.
• Enforce FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies and laws.
• Coach employees on safety rules and quality requirements.
• Minimize shipment rehandle across the network by prioritizing loading strategies.
