Job summary

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. is seeking a Freight Manager to lead all freight operations, including order management, driver oversight, and equipment maintenance, ensuring safety, reliability, and on-time deliveries.

You will partner with manufacturing, sales, and supply chain teams to optimize routes, monitor fleet performance, and implement continuous improvements while mentoring drivers. This role demands strong leadership, FMCSA knowledge, and proficiency with Power BI and Microsoft

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent experience.
2+ years in Transportation or Freight Management with supervisory duties.
Willing to work 40+ hours including weeknights/weekends.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
FMCSA and State DOT regulations knowledge.
Proficient with Power BI and Microsoft Office.
Experience with dispatching and load prioritization.
Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
High attention to detail and organization.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead safety culture with training, PPE, and accountability.
Conduct accident investigations and implement safety improvements.
Hire, coach, and retain drivers with performance feedback.
Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and supply chain to meet delivery expectations.
Oversee dispatching and delivery schedules.
Monitor fleet performance using key metrics (e.g., payload efficiency, OTIFNE, MPG).
Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and schedule maintenance.
