Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a supervisory role to lead and develop a team responsible for moving shipments on time and damage-free. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate staffing, and ensure safety and compliance with DOT and industry regulations.

The position emphasizes leadership, training, and collaboration with service centers to meet customer expectations and cost-efficiency targets. This role requires willingness to travel as needed and a strong command of MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, and company policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, educate and develop company employees focusing on retention and growth.
• Supervise and direct employee work with a focus on quality, customer deliverables and safety performance.
• Monitor, educate and correct unsafe acts/conditions with feedback to impacted employees.
• Plan daily manpower needs and set schedules to ensure on-time freight delivery and pickup.
• Communicate job assignments coordinating with all employees to ensure clear direction.
• Monitor service freight and ensure cut time compliance.
• Identify opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information and setting appointments.
• Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
• Build relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Identify freight moving at incorrect weight and classification.
• Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
