Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States is seeking a logistics/operations lead responsible for guiding teams to ensure shipments move on time and without damage, while complying with policy and regulatory requirements.

You will supervise staff, plan daily manpower, coordinate with dispatch and dock crews, and drive safety, efficiency, and customer service improvements. This role requires strong communication and leadership in a dynamic freight environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and tariff rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop company employees.
• Plan daily manpower needs to ensure on-time, damage-free freight.
• Coordinate movement of trailers and freight with dispatch and dock staff.
• Monitor loading techniques to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Evaluate and adjust route structures and bids based on local trends.
• Conduct safety meetings and participate in quality groups.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiencies.
• Assist customers with rate quotes, claims information and appointments.
• Handle administrative tasks like printing receipts, billing and tracking shipments.
