Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Transportation Market Strategy Manager to lead the enterprise network's freight strategy, ensuring optimal pricing, carrier mix, and effective tendering. You will own the annual RFP and mini-bid process, monitor market conditions, and set targets to drive savings across modes.

The role requires collaboration with Procurement, Operations, and business units, plus evaluating new transportation technology to improve sourcing and management of freight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent Transportation/Procurement experience.
• 3-5 years experience in transportation procurement, carrier management, or freight market analysis.
• Advanced Excel and bid/optimization tools; experience with TMS and rate management platforms preferred.
• Able to present market conditions and bid recommendations to senior leadership and negotiate with carriers.
• Transport knowledge across truckload, intermodal, LTL, and private fleet; RFP/award strategy; savings tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual transportation RFP and mini-bid strategy.
• Monitor freight market conditions, spot/contract rate trends, carrier capacity, fuel, and seasonality.
• Provide rate and cost inputs for network models, routing guides, and load-build rules.
• Identify, quantify, frame, and track savings initiatives across all modes.
• Lead evaluation and implementation of transportation technology with IT and TMS vendors.
