Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dockworker to transport freight across the dock area to/from trailers and assist with loading and documentation. The role requires operating motorized and manual equipment, verifying shipments, and ensuring secure staging for loading.

Hours include early morning and evening shifts; starting pay is $26.04 per hour with a range up to $26.04 depending on location and experience. Benefits include health/dental coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry varying weights; strong documentation and math skills.
• Good communication and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
