Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers. The role involves moving freight using motorized and manual equipment and ensuring accurate documentation.

Starting pay is $25.64 per hour with a night shift from 8:30 PM to 4:30 AM. The position requires ability to lift heavy freight, work independently or as part of a team, and comply with all safety rules. Candidates with warehousing or forklift experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy freight up to 100 pounds and open trailer doors with up to 75 pounds lift.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify freight documentation against description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required freight documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight needs and documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
