Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line in Walbridge, OH is seeking a Dockworker to load and unload freight safely and efficiently, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual techniques. You will help secure cargo and support warehouse operations to ensure on-time deliveries.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed. You will join a team focused on safety, reliability, and customer service across our OD

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must have knowledge of different loading techniques such as loading tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with forms used in freight movement such as shipping orders and manifests.
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using yard management systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually.
• Transport freight throughout the service center.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms used in freight movement.
• Secure freight inside trailers using straps and airbags.
• Ensure the quality loading of all trailers and maintain safety standards.
