Job summary

FedEx Freight in New Jersey is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading onto trailers. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move freight and load trailers safely. The role requires basic math and good communication skills.

Experience in warehousing or freight handling is preferred. This position involves varying weather conditions and physical tasks such as lifting up to 100 pounds and opening trailer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/carry various weights and operate dock equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Use forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck to move freight.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and secure freight in trailers.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary and complete required reports.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
