Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Warehouse Associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading and unloading to trailers. You will operate equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, verify paperwork, and secure loads with straps or ropes.

The role requires basic math and good communication. Prior warehousing and hostling experience is preferred. Work hours and conditions involve a dock environment and variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
