Job summary

FedEx Freight in Utah is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading/unloading to trailers. The role requires forklift operation, documentation verification, and safe handling of heavy weights.

Starting rate is $21.16 per hour with shift from 1400-2230. Candidates should have warehousing experience, be at least 18, and be capable of lifting substantial weights, bending and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
