FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to transport freight across dock areas, load into trailers, and perform related duties. The starting rate is $21.17 per hour with a 1400-2030 shift.

This position involves forklift and hand truck operation, documentation checks, and customer assistance. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Operate freight handling equipment including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
