Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dock worker to load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack or by hand, strap and pad cargo to prevent damage, and accurately record the freight condition on arrival at the service center.

You will perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment, maintain regular attendance, and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, including overtime and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Experience in transportation industry preferred
• Stable employment history preferred
• Prior forklift operation or certification preferred
• Must be able to lift approx. 70 lbs and push/pull heavy loads
• Must be able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends
• Must be able to read, interpret and comply with safety rules and procedures

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Record condition of freight on arrival at service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment
• Maintain regular attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed
