Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to move freight within the dock area and load/unload to trailers. You will verify freight documents, secure cargo and assist customers, working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and pallet jacks, repairing damaged freight, completing reports and complying with safety standards. This role requires teamwork and physical aptitude for lifting and movement of goods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift operations preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, including forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials) in current system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
